Antonia Guerra-Watson, PhD is a psychologist licensed for independent practice in the state of Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology with high honors from the University of Texas at Austin. She obtained her Master and Doctoral degrees in Counseling Psychology from the University of Notre Dame. She completed her predoctoral internship at Child and Family Guidance Center in Dallas, TX and a postdoctoral internship at the Dallas Metropolitan Consortium in Psychology. Prior to starting her private practice in 2003, she was a staff psychologist and the director of training at the University of Texas at Dallas counseling center. She has also served as a staff psychologist at Galaxy Counseling Center in Garland. Her areas of special focus in her practice are helping people heal from the effects of trauma, addiction, anxiety and depression. In her over 15 years of helping clients, she has found that using a body-mind-spirit-community approach can provide the best opportunity for a successful recovery. To help her clients achieve this, she has obtained a 240-hour yoga teacher certification and has completed the Y12SR (Yoga of 12 Step Recovery) leadership training. She also has training in hypnosis and has completed EMDR level I and II trainings and can integrate these methods into a personalized cognitive-behavioral, acceptance and commitment therapy and interpersonal therapy plan.
